ZION 590
Located in the Los Angeles Arts District, Zion 590 is a mixed-use housing, performance, and studio space for resident artist musicians. The project is composed of 3 distinct sections: a 4-unit housing section, main hall performance space, and recording studio + amphitheatre.
Industrial music lends itself to the design and overall aesthetic of Zion 590 in that it influences design both in its philosophy as well as its visual characterization. The idea of industrial music being this re-invention of existing musical styles that often is hybridized lends itself to the idea of mixing architectural styles.
